MEDICATIONS and SUPPLEMENTS
We use medications as a tool to assist you in your weight loss process. In our program, medications are prescribed in conjunction with nutrition, exercise and lifestyle education.
Some medications have been proven to double or triple the weight-loss you get from diet and exercise. Another result of taking prescription weight loss pills is reducing risks concerned with obesity. As studies have found, prescription pills improved cholesterol level, blood pressure, fats level and resistance of insulin.
Several safe and effective prescription medicines and natural supplements can be used to suppress hunger and add support to your dietary and lifestyle plan. Appetite suppressants help you to limit your caloric intake, increase your metabolism and your energy level.
Taking medication will assist you in following a sensible nutrition plan and will greatly enhance the efficacy of your weight loss program. Our physician will determine, based on your blood profile, physical exam and personal goals which medications and vitamin supplements will be appropriate for you.
All the medications that we dispense to patients are FDA approved and are 100% pharmaceutical grade.
The most commonly used type of pills prescribed for weight loss is appetite suppressants. They simply decrease your appetite or “cheat” your brain into feeling full. The results are less food consumption and thus weight loss.
Good doctors, throughout history, have always chosen medicines that have more than one effect. Instead of thinking of “side-effects” as bad-effects, smart doctors intentionally choose medicines with multiple “good side-effects.”
For example, aspirin was first used for headaches and fevers. Now it is mostly used to prevent heart attacks. Most diabetics take an “ACE inhibitor” not only for blood pressure, but also to protect their kidneys. Other medications have been developed for various medical conditions but they have weight loss as a side-effect.
Our physician will help you identify any medications you are already taking which cause weight gain as a bad side-effect and replace them with medicines which help you lose weight. He will determine which medications will help suppress your appetite, increase your energy and assist you in achieving your weight loss goals.
If indicated by your physical assessment and blood profile, our physician may prescribe certain vitamins to you to be used as catalysts involved with fat metabolism.
Vitamin B-12
Vitamin B12, Cobalamin, is one of the vital nutrients our bodies need in order to work properly. It is necessary to perform many of the body's more important tasks, including the making of DNA during cell division and the healthy formation of red blood cells.
Vitamin B12 is known as the "energy vitamin" because it gives a real energy boost. It is used to remedy fatigue and it speeds up the metabolism. Red blood cells are also responsible for producing hemoglobin, the part of the blood that takes oxygen from the lungs and transports it to all the different parts of the body.
How Does Vitamin B12 assist with weight loss?
Our B12 shots are administered directly into the muscle, allowing for better absorption. Vitamin B12 causes the metabolism to speed up, which in turn increases weight loss.
Vitamin B12 shots give a tremendous boost of energy. This generally helps people to maintain their diets, and motivates them to exercise and increase physical activity.
Vitamin B12 also helps to fight stress and depression, symptoms which are sometimes associated with weight gain.

B Vitamins
-
These are important vitamins in terms of weight loss, and they are often known as the 'stress' vitamins. Vitamins B3 and B6 are especially important because they help to supply fuel to cells, which are then able to burn energy. Vitamin B6 together with zinc is necessary for the production of pancreatic enzymes which help you to digest food. If your digestion is good, you will be much more likely to use your food efficiently, instead of storing it as fat.
-
Vitamins B2, B3 and B6 are necessary for normal thyroid hormone function production, so any deficiencies in these can affect thyroid function and consequently affect metabolism. B3 is also a component of the glucose tolerance factor which is released every time your blood sugar rises. Vitamin B5 is involved in energy production and helps to control fat metabolism.
Amino Acids
Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and are essential for body tissues. They help in the development and preservation of body tissues. They also act as stimulants to improve the immune system of the individual. Amino acids could be a key to healthy weight loss. For years, athletes have been taking carnitine, an amino acid, to increase their energy levels, better their stamina and lower their body fat levels. The body manufactures carnitine from essential amino acids lysine and methionine, but sometimes the body doesn't’t produce enough. This could lead to deficiencies, which is why athletes take supplements of 500mg to 1000 mg a day to keep their levels healthy.
There is research that states that non-essential amino acids could help dieters with their weight loss goal. The amino acid carnitine’s job is to transfer fatty acids into the cell for burning. When the body begins to increase its metabolism of fatty acids, this sends signals that provide the brain and muscles with energy. This energy relieves the body’s muscular fatigue which is associated with weight loss.
Aside from carnitine, two other essential amino acids, phenylalanine and trptophan, could also assist in weight loss. Tryptophan is thought to lessen a person’s cravings for carbohydrates, while phenylalanine increases the production of norepinephrine, which suppresses the appetite. Unlike other appetite suppressants that are sold to the masses, amino acids like phenylalanine assist with weight loss without causing depression. Amino acids and weight loss are linked. With the assistance of amino acids, weight loss is possible, and this helps lessen the probability of developing illnesses like diabetes and heart disease, which are associated with obesity.
OMEGA 3-6-9
When the body is deficient in the Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids, it continuously sends a message to the brain, saying, “FAT! I NEED FATS!” Because most of us can’t distinguish between the various types of fats, we consume the wrong kinds of fats thus creating a greater imbalance and deficiency of the right kind of fats.
By adding the right fats to your diet and eliminating poisonous fats, you lose the cravings for fatty foods and can experience continued weight loss, increased energy, and a sense of dietary satisfaction.
